Gift Aid It: Gift Aid is a UK Government scheme that allows registered charities
such as Islamic Texts for the Blind to increase the value of your donations by claiming
back income or capital gains tax you've already paid. Gift Aid allows you to increase
the value of your donation by approximately 28%, at no extra cost to you! The Inland
Revenue will give Islamic Texts for the Blind 28p for every £1 that you donate.
So, Islamic Texts for the Blind will get £12.80 if you donate £10. Please remember
to notify us if you no longer pay income or capital gains tax equal to the amount
we will claim in the tax year (i.e. 28p for every £1).
If you are a higher rate taxpayer, do not forget to claim relief of 18% in your
self-assessment tax return from the Inland Revenue. You can also donate any repayment
of tax from the Inland Revenue to Islamic Texts for the Blind via your tax return.
In order for Islamic Texts for the Blind to claim Gift Aid on your donations you
must complete a Gift Aid declaration. You can do this by completing
a Gift Aid declaration.
Remember any donation you make (whether via online banking or sending a cheque through
the post) can be increased with Gift Aid so regardless of what method you use please
do fill in the Gift Aid declaration. It only takes a few minutes.
